Halloween is right around the corner, and if you don't already have a costume, this is your sign to make your own. If you're not super crafty, no need to worry, these costumes are super easy to make; plus, they're also super cheap.

Halloween can get pretty expensive once you've bought a costume, accessories, candy, treat bags, etc. Save some money this year and make one of the creative costumes below:

1. Dress As Your Favorite Movie Character

Recreating a costume from one of your favorite movies is a super easy way to participate without going over board. You can recreate so many great costumes with clothes you already have, things around your house and maybe an extra prop or two.

Last year, my colleagues and I went as the Parent Trap. The only thing I had to purchase was the lizard to recreate the iconic hiking scene.

2. A Fork In The Road

Everyone loves a costume with a play on words. Not only will this costume show off your great sense of humor, but it's super easy to make. All you'll need is:

  • A Black Shirt
  • Duct Tape
  • A Fork

Tape small pieces of duct tape onto the shirt like lane lines on a road. Then, use a smaller piece of tape to adhere the fork onto the shirt. Voila, A Fork In The Road.

3. Magic 8 Ball

If you need the answer on what to be for Halloween, just ask the Magic 8 Ball. Or better yet, be a Magic 8 Ball. All you'll need is:

  • A Black Shirt or Dress
  • White and Black Construction Paper

Tape a white circle with a black number eight onto the front of your dress or shirt, then write a fun message on a different piece of paper and tape it to your back.

4. Salt and Pepper

If you're looking for the perfect couples costume, look no further. All you'll need is:

  • A Black Shirt
  • A White Shirt
  • Black and White Construction Paper

Cut a black "S" out of the construction paper and tape it to your white shirt. Then, cut out a white "P" and tape it to your black shirt. Such an easy costume that is sure to shake up any Halloween party.

5. Stick Figure Family

If you're like me, you see stick figure families on the back of vehicles everywhere you go. Who would've thought you could turn the iconic car decal into the perfect family Halloween costume. All you'll need is:

  • A White Shirt
  • A Pair of White Pants
  • Black Duct Tape
  • White Construction Paper
  • A Black Marker
  • String

To create this costume, take long strips of black duct tape and tape them in the body's shape onto your white shirt and pants. Then, draw your face onto a piece of white construction paper and cut it out like a mask. Make sure to add holes to either side of your mask so that you can tie a string onto the mask and tie it around your head.
