The ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic is officially back this week, and honestly, it’s becoming one of my favorite events of the entire spring season here on the Grand Strand. There’s just something really fun about seeing Myrtle Beach show up on the national golf stage while the whole community leans into the excitement of it all. My husband is a huge golf fan, so I’m excited to take him back with me again this year, and one of my favorite golfers, Brooks Koepka, is playing, so it’s going to be an exciting few days.
The ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic is a PGA TOUR event held at the beautiful Dunes Golf & Beach Club and runs May 7–10. What makes this tournament so fun is that it doesn’t feel overly formal or intimidating—it feels like a really good mix of high-level golf, community event, and spring weekend activity all rolled into one. Even if you don’t follow golf closely, it’s still easy to enjoy the atmosphere, the course, the food, and honestly just being outside during one of the prettiest times of year in Myrtle Beach.
One thing that makes this tournament feel especially unique is the Wednesday Celebrity Pro-Am. This year’s lineup includes names like Kevin Costner, Kurt Russell, Vanna White, and several other athletes and celebrities throughout the day. It adds a completely different energy to the event and makes Wednesday one of the most entertaining days to attend.
The golf may be the main attraction, but the post-round concerts are a huge part of what makes the Myrtle Beach Classic feel different from a traditional tournament. This year’s entertainment lineup includes The Beach Boys featuring John Stamos on Friday night, along with additional live music and entertainment throughout tournament week. In previous years, artists like Tyler Hubbard have helped turn the evenings into full-on spring concert nights. Honestly, the combination of golf all day followed by live music outside near the ocean just feels very Myrtle Beach in the best way.
If you’re heading out this week, comfortable shoes are absolutely the move because you’ll walk way more than you think. Sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat are also non-negotiable if you’re planning to stay most of the day. Parking and shuttle information is available on the tournament website, and there are hospitality options if you want a slightly elevated experience while you’re there.
And if this is your first golf tournament, don’t overthink it. Some people follow one golfer all day, while others find a spot near a green and stay put for a while. There’s really no wrong way to do it.
One of the coolest parts of this tournament is seeing what it brings to the area as a whole. Hotels fill up, restaurants stay busy, local businesses benefit, and there’s just a different kind of energy around town during tournament week. As a corporate partner, it’s been really exciting to watch this event continue to grow and become such a recognizable part of the spring season here in Myrtle Beach.
Whether you’re a serious golf fan, there for the concerts, or just looking for something fun to do this weekend, the ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic really does have something for everyone. It’s one of those events that feels polished but still approachable, and it showcases Myrtle Beach in such a fun way.
