This Saturday, the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers will have their first home game of the 2024 football season. As an alumnus of the university and a huge college football fan, I've been waiting for this moment since our last season ended.
As someone who's been attending games since their days as a student, I figured I'd give you the inside scoop on a successful game day by sharing a few tips and tricks I've learned over the years.
Trying to decide what to wear for game day? Teal, of course! However, the university's official colors are Teal, Bronze and Black, so any of those will do. This Saturday's kickoff game is actually a Teal Out, where fans are encouraged to show off their favorite teal apparel. Throughout the year, there are several other different apparel themes:
Oct. 5 vs. Old Dominion University - White Out
Nov. 7th vs. Appalachian State - Black Out
If you don't own any CCU apparel, you can always hit up the book store on campus, the Teal Nation store at Broadway at the Beach or Downtown Conway, and Walmart on Hwy. 501, for cheaper options.
Keep in mind that the teal turf in the stadium heats things up a bit, so if you're attending a day game in the warmer months, be sure to wear something that will keep you cool.
Also, the stadium does have a clear bag policy, so make sure any purses or bags that you plan to bring inside, fit the specified dimensions.
Most of the parking lots on campus near the stadium are reserved for specialty game day parking. However, the parking lots at HGTC are free, first come, first serve. There are also several parking lots around campus with Visitor parking if you get there early enough to grab one of those spots.

I recommend arriving to the game early if you don't have a reserved parking spot. Bring a lawn chair, a speaker, and a teal tailgate box from Bojangles, and enjoy the beautiful campus while you wait for kickoff.
When selecting seats, I highly recommend buying seating on the side (closest to HWY 544). Not only will you enjoy the game with other Chanticleer fans, but you'll also avoid the hot Carolina sun beating down on you as it sets.

While you might not be able to throw on a jersey and make the game-winning tackle, you can still be a part of the game by supporting the team. Click here to learn a few of our Chanticleer Traditions so that you can join in on the songs, chants, and other crowd favorites during the game.
And as always, GO CHANTS!
