Tips for a Successful College Football Gameday

I have loved watching the Coastal Carolina University Football team climb the NCAA Football rankings each week. Attending the games and cheering on my alma mater as they continue on their journey of success is exhilarating.

CCU Football games have recently started taking up a huge chunk of my fall calendar. Gamedays are pretty much a full-day affair with the tailgate and the actual game, not to mention packing everything I'll need into the car the night before.

As fun as gamedays are, they can be quite stressful if you're not prepared. Check out my tips below for a successful college football gameday.

Plan Your Outfit

Whether you have a lucky jersey or like to wear trendy outfits in your school's colors, plan your gameday outfit ahead of time and lay it out the night before. The last thing you want is to be digging through the dirty hamper on gameday only to find your lucky jersey has a chili dog stain.

Not sure what to wear? Check the school's website to see if the game you're attending has a theme, like a blackout or military night. If you don't have any team apparel, you can always stop by a Walmart close to the school; most collegiate Walmart's have tons of university apparel.

Prepare for the Tailgate

Whether you're hosting or attending a tailgate, you'll want to come prepared. Pack your chairs, tables, games, and décor the night before so that the only thing you're worried about grabbing on gameday is the snacks.

If you ask me, snacks are the best part of the tailgate. Unsure what to cook? Check out this Southwestern Cheesesteak recipe from Chef Jamie, Owner of Johnny D's Waffles and Benedicts.

Put Your Tickets and Passes Somewhere Special

Your gameday outfit and delicious tailgate snacks won't matter if you can't get into the actual game, so make sure you put your tickets and parking pass somewhere special. I normally keep mine in my glove box for safekeeping but anywhere will do as long you have them in hand when you arrive at the big game.

Now that you've got all the tips, the only thing that could make gameday better is a win for your team. Good luck to your team this season, and as always, #gochants.
