One of my favorite things about being a homeowner is decorating my house for each season. With the first day of fall being next week, I figured it was about time to get started on my fall décor. Unfortunately, the décor had been picked over everywhere I looked or was super expensive, so I decided to make my own.
Since my fall décor will stay out through Thanksgiving, I made a centerpiece to highlight my kitchen table. I wanted to make something that looked elegant but wouldn't cost a lot of money, so I scoured Pinterest and TikTok for the perfect design.
I am by no means crafty or creative, but I can follow directions, so Pinterest and TikTok were a great place to go for ideas and a video of step-by-step directions. I saw a ton of cute fall décor crafts on those sites with supplies from the Dollar Tree, which was right up my alley.
I headed to my local Dollar Tree to grab supplies. Before going, I checked online for a Dollar Tree with a "Crafters Square" section; these Dollar Trees are supposed to have a few more crafting supplies than the traditional Dollar Trees do. Here's how to search for "Crafters Square" Dollar Trees.
While on the Dollar Tree website, I saw where Dollar Tree has many craft ideas with step-by-step instructions if you're looking for more décor ideas.
What You'll Need:
- White Foam Board
- Two of the 2ct. Pack White Foam Disks
- Tacky Glue
- 3 Candle Holders
- 3 Candles
- Florals of your choice (I used a fall floral assortment and pumpkins)
How to Make the Centerpiece
- Using a box cutter, trim your foam board down to fit the four foam disks side-by-side (approximately 20x6 in.)
- Glue the four foam disks side-by-side onto the foam board.
- Glue the three candle holder on the seam where the disks touch.
- Trim your florals using wire cutters until there's just enough stem to poke into the foam disk.
- Hide the foam disks and foam board using your florals. Make sure to get plenty of florals so that there aren't any bare spots.
- Once all the foam is hidden, place your candles into the candle holders and light them.
- Voila, the perfect fall centerpiece!
